Autonav steering gears from Canada designs and manufactures steering gears for vessels up to 300 meter in length. Autonav also delivers the required pumpsets, control and monitoring systems as well as a range of in-house developed autopilots.

For commercial vessels there are two types of steering gears:
- ram type steering gears : torque capacity 0.65 up to 250 ton-meter
- rotary vane steering gears : torque capacity 1.6 up to 250 ton-meter
The rotary vane type can be delivered in a shock proof version which has been specially designed for the Canadian Navy.
